Christmas Day lunch near Abingdon from £54.99 at the Roaring Raindrop to £120 at the Merry Miller: nine pubs with 2026 prices, child rates and deposits.
For Christmas Day in Abingdon, most people start with the Nag’s Head on its island by Abingdon Bridge (£110 for four courses) or head out to the thatched Barley Mow at Clifton Hampden (£90). The lowest price is at the Roaring Raindrop on Preston Road, at £54.99 for four courses. Every entry was checked against the venue’s own site on 1 November 2026.
We have not eaten at any of these for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry gives the 2026 Christmas Day price from the venue’s own Christmas page or menu, the child price and deposit where published, and the Food Standards Agency hygiene rating. All nine are rated 5, the top score. Christmas Day 2026 falls on a Friday, and most of these want a deposit and a pre-order well before the day.

Not in this year’s list
Some places people ask about are not here, and this is why. The White Hart at Fyfield, the Eyston Arms at East Hendred and the Greyhound at Letcombe Regis all say on their own sites that they are closed on Christmas Day 2026. The Boundary House on Oxford Road, Abingdon, and the Bay Tree at Grove take Christmas Day bookings with a £10 deposit, but their Christmas pages publish no price. The Bear Hotel in Wantage still shows a Christmas Day menu dated 2024. The Plum Pudding at Milton publishes a Christmas menu for parties, not for Christmas Day.
How we chose
These are the pubs and restaurants in and around Abingdon that publish a 2026 Christmas Day price on their own websites and hold a Food Standards Agency hygiene rating of 3 or more; all nine hold a 5. Every price, deposit and deadline comes from the venue’s own Christmas page or menu PDF, read on 1 November 2026. Hygiene ratings come from the FSA register; the Barley Mow is rated by South Oxfordshire District Council, the rest by the Vale of White Horse. Prices and availability change as tables fill, so check with the venue before you book. Run a place that should be here, or spot something that has changed? Email newsdesk@abingdononline.co.uk.
